“I want to run but I can’t move right now.
I want to shout but I wasn’t allowed.
I want to be a normal human-being, leading a normal life, but expectations change it.
I want to have an admirable and loveable relationship, but it never lasts.
I want to be transparent but only me who gives.
I want to be sincere, but they never believe in sincerity
I want to uphold my degree of integrity, but they force me to lower it
I want to be smart, but they blame me for being too smart
I want to be hard-working, but they think its polishing
I want to help, but they think I am faked
I want to reveal their fakeness, but they become faker
All I want to say, this is life,
‘Welcome to life’!” Prince
Those are common experiences of many, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteBut one thing I've learnt is, though we can't change others, we can change ourselves and our attitude.
The way you think
determines the way you feel,
and the way you feel influences
the way you act.
- Rick Warren, The Purpose Driven Life
Dr.Prince, I gonna have to cheer you up. None of us is infallible and good time is not always with us.
ReplyDeleteMe, having passed through decades of life here, experience and notion has taught me on how to perceive and accustom gradually to attitude of living under some circumstances of limitation/custom. So I have had smelt the smoke!
Thanks to Bee and Robert, I believe i really have to learn how to accustom to the attitude of living under limitation..of course without losing my self-identity....
