Male & Female = Fruit = Papaya+Durian!

Here’s another question for you to ponder on: if men and women were fruit, what types of fruit would they be? For males, they might prefer females to be papayas perhaps for this reason: papayas are refreshing and can help the digestive system; but occasionally, you meet ‘durian’ woman! With these ladies, all the elements are dangerous, but if you can get through that thorny shell, the payoffs are incredible. For women, they may prefer males to be honeydew melons because the taste of the fruit is sweet and distinct. You do meet the occasional ‘balsam pear’ though! You can’t even put the fruit in your mouth due to its bitterness. Despite this fact, it does help in cleansing your system. Now, which fruit do you prefer? Have your guess.

Think Out of The Box, Learn from the Joke...

Sometimes, reading jokes can wisen you up. Many students brush up on their English language through comics but it is also a form of amusement that can lessen your boredom. By uttering a wisecrack, you not only create laughter but also increase your knowledge on certain English verbs. You tend to remember funny anecdotes more than ordinary readings. One of the ‘Bar Room Jokes’ in FFM Magazine might not create much laughter but teaches us about real life experiences. Let’s see what you think. Below is the joke:

Once upon a time, there was a non-conforming sparrow who decided not to go south with his fellow flock mates. However, the weather soon turned so cold that he reluctantly decided to fly south. In a short time, ice began to form on his wings and he fell to the earth in a barnyard, nearly frozen solid. A cow passed by where he had fallen, and crapped on the little sparrow. The sparrow thought it was the end, but the manure warmed him and defrosted his wings! Warm and happy, able to breath, he started to sing. Just then, a large cat came by and hearing the chirping, investigated the sound. The cat cleared away the manure, found the chirping bird, and promptly ate him.

Now, do you know what the moral behind the story is? Everyone who craps on you is not necessarily your enemy. Everyone who gets you out of crap is not necessarily your friend. And if you are warm and comfortable you might just want to keep your mouth shut!

Kiasu, Kiasi & Kiamsiap...!

Ok, what is 3K all about? I overheard a conversation during my lunch and came across the most ironic sarcasm I have ever heard, which is 3K! 3K stands for “Kiasu, Kiasi, Kiamsiap!” When people define you as 3 K, it apparently means you are “Afraid to Lose”, “Afraid to Die” and “Selfish”.

Tracing back the background and history of these 3 special words, “Kiasu” and “Kiasi” apparently come from Singapore. This probably stems from the common notion that Singaporeans are very competitive and they do not want to lose their competitiveness on the international platform, further enhanced by their status as a first world country. Their self-esteem is high.

However, “Kiamsiap” is very different. It comes from Penang (if I am not mistaken). I personally have to admit that there is some truth that comes from the usage of this term. It explains the slow growth of branded shoplets in Penang as compared to the increasing number of ‘mamak stalls’!

I had a conversation with one former national badminton player who is venturing into the nutrition product and sport accessories business. He is from Penang. He related his experience in executing sales in Penang and Kuala Lumpur. “I have to admit that the price of my product is steep, because it is a high end nutrition product. I sell at RM 36 per capsule. For my friend in Penang, even though he is very rich, RM 36 is too expensive for him, and he is not willing to the spend money, even though he spent hundreds of dollars purchasing birds nest products. Besides, in K.L, I can sell more than 200 capsules (the least) in a month, and they buy in bulk. They never complain though,” he said. So beware if you are being called ..3K...

Black Magic = Love?

A few days back, I had a chat with my friends where the topic of relationships came up. Before we discuss this, let me ask you, do you believe in black magic? If you are in love, then you must have been through the ‘black magic’ stage in a relationship. Have you ever encountered black magic before? You wonder about this as you read this....

Most couples consider the stages before the start of a romantic relationship as the “black magic’ stage because when you are attracted to someone, you tend to have the following symptoms; you miss your partner, think about her/him day and night, ignore your priorities, and are willing to do anything for her/him. You are totally obsessed with him/her and you do not know what you are doing anymore. In the past, we have heard people saying the phrase ‘Love is Blind’, but why? Perhaps black magic has blinded-folded his/her eyes.

Rational human beings are believed to have the ability to cope with relationships without being easily carried away by the moment. If you are rational enough to think of what is right or wrong, then you are immune from black magic. However, it is believed that black magic leads to romantic relationships and without it, a relationship remains dry and without passion. Therefore, nothing is perfect; you can only choose either one.
There are also cases in relationships when you know you are wrong but you still insist on doing what is wrong, People say ‘Love is Blind’, and that this is the power of black magic/ love. These incidents happen occasionally in our life and we realize that without being ‘wrong’ sometimes, our relationships are like empty tins – without meaning.

Singaporean Woman looking for 5Cs...?!

While sitting around waiting for my friends at home, I pick up a magazine and start my tedious reading like I always do. Until, an article caught my attention, it is an interview about a celebrity.

The celebrity proudly claims that she will go out with a penniless guy because money can be earned while character can’t be bought. That could be true, however, strike by the controversy lately regarding Singaporean woman’s liberation.

Singaporean woman snares for men that has 5Cs (Condominium, Cash, Credit Card, Car and Country Club), at which not many has it all, leaving more than 300,000 men unmarried in Singapore.

Ironically, Women do look for what the men have, and sometimes, not very often, materialistic do kick in. Bear with the fact that, women need security for their future sake, and 5Cs is just another way to measure the security of a man. If a man without any of the 5Cs, you may want to reconsider again, but if he is ambitious and hardworking, you might want to forgone the 5Cs, because as long as he has a good character, it is believe that sometime in future, he could have the 5Cs.

Charge-Men...! What is that..

It’s amazing that how often, we tends to learn an extra miles of knowledge through our daily conversation. I had a chat with Uncle Eddie, a friend of my working in private colleges. He is 57 years old, and working as maintenance in that particular college under contract. I got to learn that his contract is ending and company does not want to continue his contract due to the cost cutting periods now.

He is very frustrated, since he has been working for so long. “My performance has never disappointed anyone. Now that they blame maintenance for extra cost! For god sake, we only have two maintenance workers here, to take care of the whole college!” said Uncle Eddie.

As far as I concern, Uncle Eddie is an experience charge man with many year of experience. Many companies had tried to source for his service, but he turned all down due to the contract term. However, what did not please him is, he was blamed for doing nothing!

“You must know, my responsibility is to take care of all facilities in college, and to make sure it functions properly. Meanwhile, you job as a Manager is to ensure we do our part and all facilities are within satisfaction,” said Uncle Eddie. “He blame us for doing nothing, and treat us as extra cost to company, but did he realize that the facilities are properly maintain?” asked Uncle Eddie.

Later, Uncle Eddie started to relate his experience as a charge man. He said, “Every building is made compulsory to have at least one charge man to look after the electricity supply. And the charge man must own a certificate from Tenaga National Berhad (TNB). A building without charger man is illegal, and TNB has the right to cut your supply!”

“What is the responsibility of a charge man, and why is it so important?” I asked. “Charge man is the designated maintenance person, need to regularly look after the supply of electricity and the facilities. He must ensure that the wire dos not lose, and he must have knowledge about electric circuit. For example, if you were asked by your management about the horse power needed for a generator set to supply a 10th floors building. You can not simply give a figure, because it will harm the whole company operation if the generator set can not meet the power consumption of your company,” said Uncle Eddie.

“The major area of concern for a charge man is that, to ensure the power circuit is properly maintained. If your company is on-fire, the authority will first interrogate the charge man, to find out if it is due to the loosen wire that spark off the fire. If it is so, then the insurance company will not cover the mishap,” he added.

Don't Worry Be Happy for What you DO....

I always believe that it is vital to ensure that you are happy with your work and environment. No matter what you do, as long as you are happy, you will derive your satisfaction, and company motivation will increase. People do best when they enjoy what they are doing, and extrinsic rewards can provide for an enhanced ongoing enjoyment of the work experience.

You shouldn’t worry about your adversity because you will find happiness when you are struggling with adversity, and you tend to find miserable when you stay in affluence. The self-destructive behavior of the rich has vitally shown all. Ultimately, Hedonistic person seeks for happiness, and if you are looking for happiness, then you must avoid pain.

WOman = Test? Can Man Get Through...?

Are men and women on different planets when it comes to truth? Yes, that is why they will test man on their sincerity, and the tests come with real attack, you need to know what they think, to survive through their tests. Here are the Little Psycho rules of thumb to make your life better with woman…

Do you know that woman like to give test to their man? Yes, it is true. An article in FHM, a man magazine, related the tests that woman might give to their man. They portray woman as a fickle creatures that change their mind all the times. Woman can get angry at nothing, or even break up with you over nothing. You will never know what you have done wrong when they unceremoniously dumped you!

Some women do look for certain thing in man, for example how much they earn; and that, test is inevitable for them, but will it be fair for man? Some woman even claims that test is a way to set boundaries, and put man through the progress if he is willing to push through it because what he does will reflect the level of sincerity in this relationship. There are a few tests that woman might have in mind:-

The Gift Test,When you buy her something, she would probably say, “Ooh, thank you, it is lovely.” Please do not get flattered by this word, because they are brought up with a good manner that these few lines probably bring nothing to you. What is worse, when you thought she likes it and you tend to buy her the similar stuff every year! If you feel like putting the blame on her, you do rather put it on yourself to think that way.

The Loyalty Test, When you tell her you plan to go out dinner with other woman, could be your lady boss or a friend of yours. If she said, “of course I don’t mind, I will not jealous because I trust you. You might have thought she is giving you her permission. Of course not! She is jealous. Woman is a strange creatures, she might be checking out on you after your date, what she will probably do is asking you how is your dinner with your friends. If you describe as having a good time, she might keep asking you what you mean by good time! That question indicates that she is checking on your re-action, you better answer properly then.

The Fat Test, When she is asking if she is fat, then you are in trouble again. There is no right or wrong answer here, and so do not try your luck on this. What you need to do is ignored the question and bring up another topic, trying to run away! If you say no, the most possible reaction form her would be, “you are lying”, then your relationship will start to blow up from here. But if you say yes, you are committing suicide for your relationship!

The Public Test, That article also mentions that Psychologist has proven, it is a natural male reaction to check out every skirt that walks into the room. However, they were probably male psychologist! You need to analyses yourself if you are having the habit of checking other woman that walking into the room while you are sitting directly across your her! She might be talking non-stop but you probably never listen too, and worse if you just smiles and act interested. If so, you are getting yourself into trouble again. Why? She doesn’t really know what she is talking about either, because more than half of her mental abilities are focusing on what you are doing!

The Phone Test, Most of us have heard about “I will call you”, but when woman said, “I will call you”, most probably you will have to wait a lifetime for that special call. And when you call back and asked, they will reply, very often, “I have been busy lately and had no time to think about it.” Professor Ruben Gur from University of Pennsylvania used brain scan tests to show that when a man’s brains are in a resting state, at least 70 per cent of its electricity activity is shut down. Scans on woman’s brains showed 90 per cent activity during the resting state are constantly receiving and analyzing information. Hence, she might probably playing some Jedi Mind trick with you, all you need to do is just call, as simple as that!

Damn,Its not my AGE..!

An executive from a reputable company asked me how old I was. 24, I replied, without much hesitation. His face registered surprise. “I thought you were 28!” he said. That made me wonder what led him to believe I was 28 (even if I was) and whether it was possible to judge a person’s age solely on looks.

After much contemplation, I have come to believe that one’s personal traits reflect one’s age. Also, your maturity in terms of your mentality reflects your age. If you tune your mind to be 30, your traits will start to get synchronized with your mindset. This strikes me with surprise; especially since I have always wanted to be 28! However, that’s just a thought that occurred to me…
