Prince: The different type of boss...

The first job I had as a PR executive, I have a good boss but the big boss (owner) is a jerk who cares about his building more than his employee. Imagine we received RM 300 Ang-Pow as Bonus in my year, and till now, still no bonus was given out! He spent all in building his so called apartment for students, and building his own empire in Cheras!

The 2nd job I have in kindergarten certainly give me the pleasure to work, having fun with children, and once a while replacing absent teachers to teach in class is certainly fun. Reporting direct to CEO evenmore challenging but my CEO only come once a week, and our optional reporting line is the incapable old lady principal. She is really the living stingy stingray on earth man! She can even eavesdrop on our phone conversation sometimes! How can I work with such unethical boss!

The 3rd Job I have now is much better with MNC status, many to learn and explore, and certainly enhance marketing skills. The dark side of it is the high turnover, and a nightmarish boss who always stick at my back on everything,

and recently learnt about backstabbing skills, and seems to utilise it on everyone dislikes. Oh, night mare!

Prince: Pessi Vs Opti

Optimistic & pessimistic are both crucial in any angle of our life. Although pessimistic see difficulty in every opportunity, while optimistic see opportunity in every difficulty. It is arguable but no one is able to pick either one. It is simply not possible.

I learnt that forecasting competitors’ activity needs to be as pessimistic as possible. I also learnt that in forecasting consumer trend & development needs to be as optimistic as possible. The need for these 2 thinking vary differently under different circumstance, but one important point to stress is – Optimistic or Pessimistic is just the beginning of something, it is the ‘Next Action’ that matter the most!

You can be pessimistic in every opportunity but what you plan to do with it? Do you have any solution for the difficulty you foresee? Though you may be pessimistic but without proper solution, you are done!

Many students organization in school, college, or even in your career, they keep imparting the philosophy, knowledge with recondite explanation that never been understood properly to the society, leading them to wrong direction. That’s why you came across students who never want to work after graduation, only to join Direct Sales agency, and investing over thousands RM to become a member. This may work to certain extent, 1 out of 10 may be successful, and they are the one who boast around to get more member. My advice to students, ‘learn to be led before you lead’, ‘no sacrifice, no victory’, ‘no shortcut to success!’, ‘it is never too late to be wealthy’!

Prince: The Malaysian Rapper!

I find that Malaysian guy in Taiwan has in fact spelled the bottom of Chinese voice to the society, but over does it, everyone in the world know about it through You Tube. Harsh comments everywhere to be seen on the MTV about Malaysia, and some comments told him off the country, and never come back. All I believe is non-sense where they forget the globalization has taken effect long time ago, and human races are moving toward unifying. It means human being should enjoy equal treatment in every aspect of life, and it also means we need to be more understanding in our daily life. Give and take become important and need to achieve a balance in between. One can not afford to give too much otherwise you start to experience ‘bounce-back’. I believe this is what happens now!

Prince: 100 degree change in my boss...

Backstabbing seems to become my boss favourite ruse to climb up the corporate ladder, my boss did it again & again either face-to-face, or back-to-back stabbing without considering others’ feeling. My boss seems to hate others brand so much even if we are under the same umbrella, and we assume, my boos thought it may help to boost his/her position if the other is badly damage. I think this is naïve.

Prince: Brand Equity Award...

The brand equity award is attended by most marketing elite in the industry; and I am glad to be invited for my brand. Well, At least effort become fruitful, my brand - or better still, my company brand, bagged the silver award for category 201 million – 400 million FMCG product. I somehow feel disappointed. In case you do not know, we got the 1st prize last year, and managed to beat SCA, KC & P&G; this year ‘marigold’ appears as winner of our category, and Fire Brand award is taken by P & G product. Somehow, stuck up people earns my dislike, and I am referring to P & G (not everyone though) but some of them in Malaysia. Anyway, if they are good, they won’t have given up on baby diaper!

Prince: The octogenarian...

Having breakfast in a coffee shop nearby my apartment, the place is as cram-full of frequenters as usual. All arrived to taste the specialty – White Coffee! Frankly speaking, crowd is certainly not my liking specially when I have to pay, and I also have to Q, for long before my turn just for a small plate of stupid food call – the best in town. Once in a blue moon is considerably fine for me, absolutely not every weekend. As usual, we shared a table of 4 with a mother & daughter, and many are standing for those leaving, hoping to get a seat. We were seated a bit later than the mother & daughter, and after they were done; we noticed another couple standing behind the table awaiting. The couple managed to sit down, and we were fine with newcomers. But…Out of a sudden, a big plastic bag of ‘Ham-Chee-Ping’ dropped on the middle of the table out of no where. Then we notice an octogenarian sit straight down on the chair at our table without even asking for permission; with pettish look and with an irascible eye-brow. (I thought octogenarian should appear benevolent?) She raised her hand waving at her family, and the couple who first occupied the seats has no choice but to give way. My wifey & I gazed at the ‘grandma’ in stupefaction, and almost drop our jaw! We just can’t believe an old woman with years of societal experiences is behaving as such.

Prince: Don't act stupid, We have leaders for that!

It doesn’t matter how ‘often’ you voice your problem to the local council, on any issue, they just don’t care! 10 years, for god sake, the flood is a nightmare for my house in Kedah. I’ve made numerous complaints to the local MP, Press, and pictures were taken, and were covered by all major newspaper in town. Eventually, nothing happen!

And again, I invited all the Press to shed light on my issue. And, the press called up the local council, but was told the rectification project may incur huge expenses, and many shelter along the road needs to be shifted along with the expansion of the ditch. Well, we would believe it is a good excuse. But…we realize that only a few Atap houses along the short distant road with only less than 500 meter.
(Picture taken from: http://www.flickr.com)

We’ve no choice but to live with the problem. Finally, we have a new city council installed. We thought we see ray of light shine on us. After a few time of inquiries, we realize that this ‘so-called-new boss’ is giving the same excuses, and happily entertained us with their promise to upgrade the condition, and later 'sleep' on it as if 'no business'... Till now, nothing happened!

At least,

I finally know where my tax has gone to!!!!!!!!

Prince: apa-lah, tak-da $, jangan kahwin-lah..

Too little increment for the government staff???

My brother currently stays with his girlfriend who is from China, and she is currently sojourned in Malaysia on temporary pass. They plan to get married soon, and my parent help to enquire about the registration process. They were told that to have a visa approved for 5 years will need to spend a minimum of RM 7,000, and that’s just for ‘under-table’ money! They were also being told that it may take longer time if to go through with the standard procedure and yet can’t guarantee the approval. What a typical local culture…

Prince: My thought...

‘A man with courage, is a man to be hardy, stout, and dare to stand its way for risk’

‘Long serving man in a company, is the most risk avoidance man in life and highly possible to become the boiled frog’

‘A company to claim her fair treatment to employees, has wheedle its way to success, the claim has never been true’

‘What do you have to lose for what you’ve risk, may be everything but it is worth risking, then it is worth losing’

'someone, somehow, going to walk through the gate some day; anyone, anyhow, going to walk through at least one gate at hte end of the day, what are you afraid of then?' (picture in courtesy of http://www.inner-healing.com/gate_to_hell.htm)

Prince: I am fagging..

I am fagging out at my work. Fag is bearable, but being an object of accusation for being incapability in dealing with due date is an unbearable annoyance! Company constantly educating employees to pin any mistake that occurs on ownself, because they believe everything ‘cause by ownself’, but it is hard to instill such thought among the top management. Eventhough if it happens, it is the next action that matters. Some people retrospect, and move on to the wrong action which bring along more mistakes.

Working in this company, allow me to feel like I’ve been walking through a long distance in my life, and the urge in me start to look forward to retirement (which will never happen!) I begin to reminisce the childhood of mine of no worry, being lively, vibrant, and sprightly; which apparently has become a past, because people grow up. However, as I understand my circumstance I abode, I walk far from home, getting despises along the way, to reach a place I call status, and yet I am still far behind. I know I am far behind, but I have a vision that it is not too far away. A vision is a dream I embrace, sleepless sometimes in a week, and that always keep in my head to uphold my perseverance. I know the day will come one day…(picture in courtesy from http://juliethehood.com/MAST/MAST.html)

Prince: The Code...

There are a couple of idiot having lunch down the restaurant under my apartment, turning on hand phone speaker on his table and chatting as if no body busy. Obviously, looking at their typical Ah Beng outlook, they don’t seem to understand about privacy, especially when the opposite speaker is a lady flirting in the phone with him. I believe they simply trying to show off.

Prince: Opps..Cutie Baby...

See this cute baby!

And My Big Benny Brother brought along his big family. This cute little baby is his daughter, so cute, just can't leave her alone!
