Prince: What I thought...

An industrious young man working hard in the company, though ‘backstabbing’ is everywhere can be seen, and people are leaving for greener pasture. He decided to stay and work harder for he believes he shall earn his dream in the company. Day by day, his best colleagues are leaving, one by one, rumors about the boss being too stingy & deprive of employees benefits grew greater.

Still, he wants to stay, eventually, he was promoted to manager, and in charge of the whole factory operation. One day, he met one of his colleagues who left the company a year ago, and only realize that his ex-colleague is earning far more than him, and only working as an assistant manager. He started to have doubt, and realize life is a joke!

This is one of the joke with cynicism against what the employees has always got to say, ‘I pay them high enough salary, and they suppose to work harder for the company!’ , ‘They will never had enough no matter how much I give!’ , and, ‘They always have negative thinking, and will never grow!’. All these excuses are normally heard from Employers, they always think they have contributed the best, and they will never look into the mirror to understand they are actually a beast! As the proverb said, ‘you can’t change the attitude of a 10 years-old cow! They are meant to live like that, they live so, so, as an employee out there, stop being stupid! Though you need to have positive thinking, but you must limit it to certain extend, positive thinking with intelligence and reasonable patience, otherwise, you are giving up your greater opportunity out there which you can actually perform far more greater with your positive thinking.

Prince: Leadership = proper instruction...

I read an article in ‘The Star’ today; and realize it described 100% alike my boss – Never give clear instruction! Even if you have great passion, great determination, great effort, but you’ll still receive reprimand! The difference expectation has led to this, and the differences are built by your superior’s ambiguous instruction. This is worsen when you superior does not even want to improve, believing that employees are not suppose to be spoon-fed, but never realize that employees are meant to be educated before they are put into field!

Prince: Office words of mouth...

I was dwell into office politic that may prove disadvantage to me. Somehow rumor on my request for transfer starting to spread & becoming word of mouth of colleagues. God knows how they discover the most private & confidential issue in office, but I do learn something – if you plan to keep it P & C, then make sure you tell nothing to no one because word of mouth always start from the one, and the one you think you can trust..(I think I tell many of them!)

Anyway, thing aren’t worsen till my direct superior question my Medical leave few days back, and I suddenly become object of suspicion to have attended interview elsewhere. Thing started to seem ridiculous, and this is especially crucial for me when appraisal & evaluation are around the corner!

For I wish to stay neutral and be fair & square in my statement forward to anyone questioning me; I wish to sustain my dignity & integrity to those around me though I do not know how far I can stretch; for I know I will try my ever best to avoid becoming a tool for somebody uses to hit another – and becoming a strategic political point means I am gradually devastating myself.

Anyhow, though none has ever stayed more than 6 months in my current position, I have eventually stayed up to one year and still going. Imagine living in this office environment that full of cynicism, and I am lucky to still remain untainted, and with tiny wish just for a transfer.

Prince: Respect those work for livelihood...

The view on the society is where the rich compel the poor to work for their dislike. The poor may have worked day & night & sacrifice their precious time for family and themselves, but they are still highly regarded compare to those well-to-do people since the least they work for livelihood! Every human being needs to survive before they’re able to take another quantum leap onwards, hence, survival is the least a human must understand, and they are respected for doing so.
