Prince: CyberView Lodge Hotel....

What a weekend away from town; Cyberview Lodge is well-known for its transquils environment, and wondeful services, they certainly do not disappoint us for that. I had one night stay with my wifey, Catheryn & Simmy, and before we left, we gave the SPA a try & realises it was fun!

Prince: Take a Break, will you...=)

Prince: Time to CHange...

‘I wish to transfer to sales department’ said I, when I approached my Sales General Manager. I have finally placed myself at the T-Junction to choose between the departments. One year passed by with such little learning in my current department, I decided to request transfer internally for a change of working environment.

Though many have left sales department, new blood is pumping in to create a total new culture that could help to enhance the company growth. I would be glad to join the big family if opportunity is given.

‘Running sale is tougher than you & I can think of, and it is not a 9 to 5 work, you may be required to work on Saturday & Sunday under current structure’ said the General Manager. My spontaneous response to his query is the reflection of my willingness to learn.

He shared his vision of bringing company toward a 100 million company; and revolving process that will take months to complete. He also share his first steps toward making change management possible, which is the promotion of my senior to assistant brand manager, but unduly perceived as ruse to hold them back after 4 years working hard for company. Negative aura filling the air molding their hatred to management has made it impossible for a mindset-change. Those ‘gaffer’ are meant to leave eventually, while new people shifted in.

I smiles as amiably as possible when asked about the current condition in marketing department; I was being mere polite & fair to both parties & avoid back-stabbing or reflection of negativity in my statement; but I must comment on the inferior leadership skill in there.

I sound a bit melancholy while he listened heedfully to what I am going to say next; ‘I prefer Sales in comparison to marketing’ said I, and he was puzzled with my answer; ‘Why’ he asked to expect more from me. ‘Well, at least the leaders are willing to teach; for example, the channel manager; the least I can see the value’

He clarify my thought about ‘teaching’, that most young people thought ‘teaching’ is somehow ‘spoon-feed’; in Sales, you are only given the ‘big picture’, alike a format, and you need to move on from there, though questions are welcome at any point of time. ‘We are currently practicing ‘mentoring’ management system’, he tries to enlighten me; Of course I understand that, for that I am no longer a graduate too fussy with my job, and never feel appease. ‘I truly understand your meaning, but I can’t even see the format in marketing! That’s frustrating & disappointed the least I can see this value in Sales after all the restructuring took place 6 months ago.’ I explained & complimented.

My assistant brand manager has been encouraging me to join sales since I first join marketing department, even the blind could sense the hectic in the department & yet she is harassing me to join sales; none would understand her intention but only to guess; perhaps she tries to create shit for the department since she will be leaving soon for her master study; perhaps, she long to enhance her momentousness for the company & ability to bargain when she leaves the department alone & dying…perhaps, there are too many perhaps, but it is somehow strange; and regardless of the guess, I will give her a hand then…
