Human set their own definition of subjective elements such as status, elite and etc, and it was affected by the different background and mentality of human being. Some people think that they are part of elite group because they are knowledgeable; some dedicates it to money and materials. It is merely a perception of materialism by many people. Psychologically, it creates a platform for them to feel good, giving them self-confident and foster self-esteem. To certain extend, it does help human in their achievement.
