Killer, who kills for living, believes that he has done a good job for killing a person; feeling proud for his wrong-doing. Similarly, a person who has successfully eliminated his bad habit by sacrificing friendship, believes that he has made a great achievement; feeling proud for his own decision.
An employer, unreasonably terminated a disobedient staff, believes that he has made the right choice; feeling good to act freely now. Similarly, a parent, who has beaten their children, has successfully cultivated obedience in the family; believing that they are doing the right thing.
A few points to make…
When a person is self-indulging, and believing strongly that they has made the right choice by taking the easiest possible solution, is overindulging in their own perception; a self-hypnosis behaviour driven by their own inferior.
The easiest possible solution sometimes creates consequences, a euphemism for a self-degrading behaviour to cover the inferior. It does not act in such way that would fortify the pillar of personality, instead leverage on your weaknesses, in term of your mental, and psychological behaviour.
In career, and in life, it gives you a way out of the reality, cultivating subconsciously, and forming the avoidance behaviour in a person, and gives you the spurious force to move on in your life; but in fact, you are still at where you are starting from, of course, without improvement.
It is a ‘virus’ in your personality, creating the ‘side-effect’ which will gradually distort your pattern of life; isolating yourself in an deserted island which only avail yourself to the devil in personality; a camouflage to cover the behaviour of self-important and of course, the feeling of self-inferiority.
A parent approached him sometimes ago, relating their problem in handling the habit of their children. The parent was complaining about their children addiction to the animated TV shows, and was asking for a solution. It is the fact that children like to watch animated shows, and acts accordingly due to their inability to discern the right and wrong, black and white in the society. It is part of their developmental stage.
He gave them two solutions, one which is the easiest but self-cheating; the second solution which requires patience and passion; and finally they chose the second one with much guidance from him, and of course, it requires their persistency.
The easiest possible solution is to get an axe and whack on the TV in front of their children; a non-functioning TV will stop their addiction; or perhaps, a more soften approach is to sell the TV, or keep the TV which unreachable by their children. Isn’t it simple? Considering it is an achievement for the parent, for if they have done that, to believe that they have done the right thing.
The second solution is to get them educational VCD, with animation and play to them at certain hours. Together with the children, watched the educational shows, and guide them in the process; explaining to them the content of the shows to cultivate the interest. It is a lengthy process which requires patience, passion and persistency. Although, it is not easy, but which one do you prefer?
He met the parent again in office when they decided to enrol them, proudly related their experience to him, because they have seen some improvement in their children.
‘Clever and smart are different from Wisdom and Intelligence, Clever and Smart people will choose the easiest way out, but Wise and intelligent person will build their way out regardless of the difficulty, which one are you?’
