As I accepted the offer from Atis Corporation, here comes another problem. My current company does not want to grant me an early release. As stated in confirmation letter, which clearly spilled out that, I have to serve two months notice, but my new company urgently needs my service. Thus, I wrote an appeal letter to my immediate superior for an early release at which he has approved it reluctantly.
I thought it was the end of the story, but it wasn’t. Somehow, my vice President can overrule the approval. I approach another Vice President who happens to be my previous reporting superior before the change of reporting line took place, and he approved my appeal.
However, also do not forget the fact that I have change reporting line; thus, have to at least, inform my current Vice President. I thought I can escape her queries but not, I approached her in her office, with assumption that it’s going to be a tough persuasion. Eventually, the discussion don’t even last more than five minutes, and I was asked to write down my responsibilities and hand-over procedures, then she will look at it and decide. She said it shouldn’t be any problem and need to look at it first. Let’s hope I can start a new career then…
