Prince: "I am Not Stupid"...

After watching the ‘seven swords’, he went downstairs, continue with AEC channel in Astro. Coincidentally, it was showing one of the Singapore Movie- ‘I am not Stupid’, it reflects the human nature and belief, and appears to be the ugly side of it. It was highly recommended, and you should watch it!

A few scenes which he still remembers, two couples went for prayer, Parent A & Parent B, and they queue up to post question to the ‘medium’, and the interpreter will interpret the meaning to them!

Parent A asked, “My son can’t study well, what should I do?”

“Guan Yin Ma said no problem”, said the interpreter.

“Guan Yin Ma please help my son”, Parent A pleaded.

“Guan Yin Ma said, it is very simple, you go to, www.GuanYinMa.com, choose the third ‘Fu’ (Taoist magic figures written in a piece of yellow paper!), print it out and burn it in a glass of water for your son to drink, then he will study well already!” the interpreter said.

“Thank you, thank you”, Parent A puzzled but answered accordingly.

Come to Parent B, they asked about their family business, which went downhill.

“Guan Yi Ma, my family business is not doing well, what should I do”, asked Parent B.

“Guan Yin Ma said, you seldom perform good deed, you know yourself, sometimes it is very much depend on yourself”, said the Interpreter.

“Oh…” Parent B surprised, showing a look of guilty and said, “Thank you, Guan Yin Ma”.

The movie is trying to show the audience that religion belief can be good and bad, firstly, it brings to the audience that religion will transform in the name of time, to a point which it utilize the internet as a channel, and it becomes commercialize! Human being is still vulnerable to realize their wrongdoing by blindly believe in it.

Secondly, it tells you how religion can be in good use if not being misuse! It can teach people to be kind and performs good deed in return for a good deed for them.

Story Continues…

Another scene, where the mother (Parent A) beats the son because he can’t get 80 marks for his exam. She practically banned her son from drawing (her son likes drawing, and draws very well).

Not long later, the mother was admitted to hospital due to blood cancel, and her son promised her mother that he will try his best to score in his exam this time, but after he got his result, which only scored 51 marks, he cried.

He went to hospital, looking at her bedridden mother, and cried to his mother.

“Mum, I have tried my best, but I still can’t score, I am sorry, I have let you down”, admitted the boy.

“Don’t cry, it is Okay”, said the mother.

Then the father walked in and hugged together, and cried. Surprisingly, his class teacher walked in with a bouquet of flower, and brings a good new to his parents.

“I am Miss Lee, the class teacher for your son, Two weeks ago, I enrolled your child for an International Open Drawing Competition, and surprisingly, he won the second prize. I come today to bring you the good news,” said the teacher.

They were very happy, but the mother went blackout after that…

This story tells us that we need to give freedom of choice for our children, sometime, they may not be good in studying, but they may be good in other field. Proper upbringing is important, it is not about forcing, beating and whatever kind of punishment to enforce certain belief in them!

Story Continues…

The story goes on, and in fact Parent A & Parent B are practically hate each other due to some incidents that have happened earlier on in the story. Parent A asked for the help of the class teacher, to call for a voluntary blood test from all the school parents. They intend to find the correct bone marrow for the mother. Parent B went for the test and the father (B) was found to be in match. He was brought to meet parent A, and later realized that it was A. He (father B) later refused to donate the Bone Marrow. Mother B stopped him and said, ‘You forget what Guan Yin Ma has told us? We did not perform good deed since long ago, and this time it is a matter of life, and we must help!’ Father B has no choice but to donate the bone marrow. When he was lying down on the bed, awaiting operation, the nurse would like to double confirm his IC No and name, by reading it out. All of sudden, he found out that it was not his name!

Story Continues…

The name brings familiarity to him, and it was his son! They went into a room, together with the Doctor. Father B told the Doctor, ‘He is my son, I have the right to say NO, and it may be dangerous to him!’

The son started to cry and said, ‘Since young, I did everything according to your wish’.

Sobbingly, he continued, ‘I did everything as you have arranged for me, and at last, I learn nothing! Now, I want to save a life, and yet I have to ask for your permission!’

Father B feels very uneasy, and sad. He approved the operation, and save mother A.

Prince thinks for a while, the situation is like what he has encountered before when he first donate blood to General Hospital, but it is just that he didn’t cry. He just went against family will to help people. Sometime, hero must be created to change the situation and belief, not belief creates Hero…if you got what he means……
