It is common to see Asian parent controlling their children’s life, where they overly concern that they may get hurt. In fact, this is a wrong thought. They should be asking where the starting point for their children to learn.
Nothing is perfect, of course, as parents, they must understand that, it’s your obligation to bring them up, but it’s their right to lead their life. Parent can’t / will not be able to stay with their children till the end of the day, and sooner or later, their children will need to lead their own life. Their life will be fruitful if they are allowed an appropriate degree of freedom at his childhood stage in choosing their life, where they will be happy to lead it.
The most common example is the cross races / religion marriage. Most Asian parents object to cross cultural marriage, due to religion problem, and life-styles. However, parents are objecting it based on their own self-interest instead of their son/daughter. You tend to find this trend in Asian Parents; it was pervasive and embedded in every one of them. It depends on how they mould this belief into something more openly accepted.
To become a model parent, parent must be able to break away the traditional belief. They must change according to the environment, to ensure that they nurture their children at the right way, without creating repellence.
