Prince: Autistic Child...

Woi Siang is an autistic child, studying in kindergarten. His mother came late today, and has called office not to make him wait until she arrived. However, for a child like him, has soon adapted to the timing of pick up, he took his bag and stood at the door waiting, while teacher was trying to bring him in, and he soon cried out loud.

Prince walked near him, and put a hand behind his back, pat him softly, and whispered in his ear, ‘Your mummy will arrive soon, don’t worry yea, let’s come in now’, prince was then move softly forward, with two hand wide open to hug him, amazingly, he allowed prince to take further action.

Prince brought him in, and sat down on the chair. Teacher would like to bring him in to wait in class so that they can watch him closely. However, he insisted to stay outside, and again, cried out loud, prince, again walked in and whispered to his ear while slowly taking off his bag and carried him up, then walked into the classroom.

Sometimes, you just need to know what the child need at that particular moment. Handling normal children are easier than handling an autistic child. Autistic child always has the tendency to speak to their own, and they won’t know what you are talking about. Prince opened his palm in front of his face, near of course, and asked him ’what is it’, by pointing to the ring. He answered, but what the child expressed is vaguely understood. You must always understand that children do not like excessive movement, or persuasion, but feeling of calm and soft movement will certainly win their heart.
