What a “Gotong-Royong” that taught primary students about Open-Burning! Yes, I was jogging as usual at the lakeside, and the Primary school was located besides the lake. To my surprise, they had a small Gotong-Royong Campaign in school, led by two teachers, a young gentleman and a lady.
I felt gladden to see how active and energetic those primary students are. They collect wood and rubbish from the floor, and threw to a designated area. The other group was cleaning the drain, sweating like a pig.
After all, I thought they will pile it up and pack it with plastic before they dump it. However, they didn’t! The two teachers (so-called teachers) started to light the wood and rubbish with gasoline, despite the fact that there were ton of people walking, jogging and playing at the lakeside. We were basically inhaling all the emission and carbon dioxide! What can we say about them! All of us looking and feeling puzzle to each other at the lakeside, while staring at them!
